Hospital photos + Elliot meeting Cora and Grandma Mel

Here are some photos from the hospital, including Elliot meeting his sister, Cora, and his Grandma Mel for the first time!

Meanwhile, back at home, Cora and Grandma Mel created thoughtful "Welcome Home" signs.

Goodbye, hospital!

Trail walks before Elliot's birthday

Elliot is now 3 weeks, 3 days old. Here are a few photos I took the day before I went into labor (Monday), and the day I went into labor (Tuesday).

Monday, January 11 - Due Date + 1. I took a trail walk on a sunny, January afternoon.

Tuesday, January 12 - Due Date + 2. Another trail walk... I'm pretty sure I hiked nearly 3 miles, as I was starting to think Elliot would never come. Perhaps all this exertion is what led him to make his entrance into the world early Wednesday morning!

Elliot's impromptu photo shoot!

Yesterday, several of our friends came to our home to meet baby Elliot. One of them, Donna Benkin Danoff, is a professional photographer who surprised us with an impromptu photo shoot. What a beautiful and thoughtful gift! She even managed to capture sweet, sleepy Elliot with his eyes open :)

Welcome Elliot John Magee!

Our son, Elliot John Magee, arrived Wednesday, January 13! He is a healthy, sweet, sleepy, beautiful boy - born 8 lbs, 6.2 oz; 21.5 inches. We are thrilled to get to know Elliot, and to become a family of four!

January highlights so far

Enjoying the *very* well-attended ;) Miami women's basketball game.

A fun dinner at the House of Bangkok in Fairfield.

A few of Cora's most recent creations. I especially love the lettering on her "hippo" photo.

Fun with Magna-tiles... Cora continues to love creating with these cool magnets from Nana and Baba.

season's first snowfall + Due Date

Yesterday (January 10) was my due date. Although our baby boy didn't arrive, Cora was THRILLED to witness the season's first snowfall. She excitedly woke Josh and I up, completely mesmerized that it had snowed overnight. "It's winter!!"

One of my favorite things about having a child is being able to see and experience life through her eyes -- e.g., magical, winter wonderland vs. cold, dreary day.

... and a 40 week selfie. :)
